Notes: By this time, plates were now silk screened by the manufacturer, eliminating the need for the slanted "F". It appears that the slanted "F" continued to be used until the mid 1970s (based upon pictures of various plates from over the years) and then the straight "F" was introduced and used until this plate type was discontinued in or around 2018. DMV-issued replacement plates all had riveted "FT" and numbers, and all had the slanted "F". Sticker box outline until about 1971, then "PLACE STICKER HERE".

Notes: Three font variations:
(1) Thin ("Waldale 1", July 2002 - Early 2003)
(2) Thicker ("Waldale 2", Early 2003 - 2006)
(3) Copy of Demco font ("Waldale 3", 2006 - Present)
Beveled edges around plate added around March 2010. This plate type was discontinued in or around 2018. per DMV. Active registrations are still eligible for renewal.
